to launch its third "Art and the Art of Watch~Making'
programme in Singapore to five local artists a platform
to exhibit and eel their the artwork in a unique setting.
This programme was set up as part of its corporate
social responsbiity arm and this year. Arbutus chose
tour professional artists in Singmore to create seven
rareArbuhnotPeeeienand mutation United
Edition timepieces.
Artist profile & watch inspirations
Peter Draw. aged 32. is an artist-philanthropist who
works with vulnerable children from disaster-stricken
areas from around the world. He aims to provide them
a glimmer of hope as they learn how to draw and
express themselves through art. 'Al. at First Sight' was
theretore inspired by the vunerable children. 'Ai' in
Mandarin Chinese. can be pronounced in four different
tones and each comes with a contrasting meaning.
These four tones represent sadness. perseverance.
kindness and eventually love. The balloon-like
rendering on the watch lace signifies "First. Love" and
rernindsusthatnomatterwhathappensaroundus.

Trfiany Tan. aged 26. is more commonly known
as 'Lovage" and is a henna tattoo artist who tuses
themes ol botany and anatomy into her creations.
"Flower Power" and "Full Bioom' are pieces that were
inspired by our national tlower. Vanda Miss Joaqium,
and represent the nahon's vibrant and energsing
culture – akin to the hybrid orchid's resiience and tree-
flower'ng blossoms throughout the year. Because of
her passion tor botanical environnmtal conservation.
she has appointed Nature Society (Singapore) as the
beneficiary from the sale of her timepiece.
Tan Chong Bin. aged 64. is an award winning
abstract artist who made a mark in the art scene with
his abstract drip painting style. Even though he worke
in the rag-and-bone trade in the past. he continued to
cultivate his passion for art and. abort later than others
succeeded in establishing a name for himself. "Sea of
Peopie' explores the intertwining relationshb between
menandtheelementsottheuniverse.anunseen
order amidst chaos and calmness. 'Abstract Uves'
depicts widllfe ot all sorts gathered together. probably
drinking from a pond. and a scene of harmony through
it all. Having minimal lormal education with a hunble
beginning. Chong Bin is able to freely express his
subconscious through the "drb painting' style.
Ying. aged 32. is a highly talented artist who has
singehandedly raised the bar in Singapore's nail art
sector through her studio. The Nail Arteiier. renowned
tor its "tine an" nail art designs inspired by master
painters. Her exquisite designs and drawing can be
seen in "The Feline Constellation' and 'Wooclands
Bunny'. The iormer is an imagination oi space travel
and the latter. an enhanced version oi her nail
